Simply download the app and you’re ready to go. When it’s time to head home just book your RYDD via the app. A RYDD driver will drive you home in the comfort of your own vehicle while a support vehicle follows and collects our driver once he’s safely dropped you off at your destination.

Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 1am, on Friday & Saturdays from 4pm to 3am and on Sundays and public holidays from 4pm to midnight.

To book a RYDD you will need to have a valid credit card registered to your RYDD profile. You don’t pay the driver any cash as the cost of the RYDD is deducted from your card on completion of the trip. An invoice will immediately be emailed to you with all the details of your trip.

When you book your RYDD, we place a temporary hold on your card for a portion of the estimated trip fare. This initial transaction would appear as “reserved” or “pending” on your account. We immediately void this hold at the end of your RYDD but it may linger on your account for a short while depending on your bank’s policies.  The remaining RYDD transaction on your account is the actual trip fare collected from your card.

When you hand your car keys to someone else you want to be sure that person is an experienced and safe driver. It’s for that reason that we partner with only the best drivers.

RYDD partners are subjected to a rigorous selection and training processes. We undertake criminal background checks, driver license verifications and drivers must be in possession of valid Professional Driving Permits (PrDP’s). RYDD drivers also have to be over the age of 23. We conduct regular assessments through ongoing training and quality assurance structures to ensure all our drivers continue to meet the required RYDD service levels.

You need to ensure that you have adequate insurance over your vehicle which includes the use of the vehicle by third party drivers (so as to include RYDD drivers). If the vehicle is involved in an accident when you are using the RYDD service, you’ll need to claim from your own insurance.

Absolutely, you just need to let your driver know – you will be billed for the total trip mileage and time.

Unfortunately not, we are not a taxi service.

You have 5 minutes from the time you book the trip to cancel without a cancellation charge. If you cancel any time after the 5 minutes, you will incur a cancellation fee of the minimum RYDD cost of R60.

If you’re found guilty of drunk driving in South Africa you could face up to 6 years in jail. You could also be liable for fines of up to R120 000 and your driver’s license may be suspended. You will also have a criminal record which can have serious ramifications for the rest of your life. Of course, the worst case scenario is that you could kill someone else on the road, your loved ones or yourself.
